Viking 70% Wool 30% Viscose Handwoven Scandinavian Living Room Rug – Ivory

Handwoven from a blend of 70% wool and 30% viscose, the Viking Series rug is designed for those who love Scandinavian simplicity, with its 18 mm pile height and densely woven structure weighing 4000 g/m². Inspired by nature, it supports a warm, understated, and durable approach to decoration; combining natural wool with silky viscose, this rug provides a comfortable and long-lasting floor covering. This variant features a bright and airy ivory (off-white) tone that reflects Scandinavian simplicity.

What Are Wool and Viscose?

Wool and viscose are two complementary fibers frequently combined in rug weaving. Wool is a natural, warm, flexible, and durable animal fiber; it regulates temperature, absorbs moisture, and retains its shape for years. Viscose, on the other hand, is a naturally sourced (regenerated) fiber derived from tree cellulose that adds an elegant shimmer to the rug with its silk-like softness and luster. Since wool is predominant in the Viking Series' 70/30 blend, the rug retains wool's structural strength, warmth, and fullness while viscose adds a silky sheen and softness to the surface. This balanced combination is an ideal choice for those seeking a warm yet understated texture, especially in Scandinavian and minimalist interior styles. The 70% wool and 30% viscose blend, combined with an 18 mm pile height and a dense 4000 g/m² weave, creates a natural floor covering that is both exceptionally soft and durable.

What Are the Materials and Technical Features of the Viking Series?

  • Material: 70% Wool & 30% Viscose
  • Weaving Type: Handwoven – crafted with fine handwork
  • Pile Height: 18 mm – extra thickness and softness
  • Weight per m²: 4000 g – a full and densely woven structure
  • Color: Ivory

Why Choose the Viking Series?

  1. Scandinavian Simplicity: Naturally complements minimalist interiors.
  2. Durable and Thick Texture: Offers both softness and long-lasting use with its 18 mm pile height.

  5. The Distinction of Handweaving: Each rug is meticulously crafted loop by loop.

A Simple and Strong Style

The Viking Series adds strong character to your home by offering naturalness and durability together. Key Features

  • Perfect for the Scandinavian Spirit: The finest reflection of a natural and understated style
  • Dense Weave: Long-lasting durability with 4000 g/m²
  • Comfortable Structure: Its thick texture leaves a soft feel underfoot

What Sizes Is the Viking Rug Available In?

This rug is available in the following sizes:

  • 130 x 190 cm – small room, in front of a seating group
  • 170 x 240 cm – medium-sized living room, sitting room
  • 200 x 300 cm – large living room
  • 250 x 350 cm – very large living room

How Should a Wool-Viscose Rug Be Cleaned?

Viking Series 70% wool and 30% viscose handwoven rugs should only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies. Since the viscose fiber in the blend is a naturally sourced (regenerated) cellulose fiber, it is sensitive to water and excessive moisture; therefore, machine washing, washing at home with detergent, and wet cleaning are not recommended. For daily care, using a low-suction vacuum cleaner and gently blotting any spills with a slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Its 18 mm thick pile can be lightly aired from time to time to help preserve the vitality and softness of its texture for longer.

Add natural warmth, silky softness, and understated elegance to your living spaces with the Viking ivory 70% wool and 30% viscose handwoven Scandinavian living room rug. With different size options ranging from 130 x 190 cm to 250 x 350 cm, it suits spaces from small rooms to large living rooms. A hassle-free return is available within 14 days of delivery. Protect Your Rug’s Elegance
A careful care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations—pieces that add value to your living space—for generations to come.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Delicate materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
The delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models clearly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
