Care and Warranty

With proper care, Carpetdocia rugs retain their like-new appearance for years. The guidelines below help protect both your rug’s lifespan and your warranty rights.

Basic Rule: Washing and Liability

Carpetdocia rugs must not be washed at home. Home washing, rug-cleaning machines, steam cleaning, and wet shampooing can cause irreversible damage to the fibers, texture, and color. When washing is necessary, we recommend using only professional rug-cleaning companies that specialize in handwoven rugs and delicate fibers.

Washing is outside Carpetdocia’s control, even when performed by a professional company. For this reason, Carpetdocia accepts no responsibility for any washing process. From the moment a product is washed, by any method and regardless of fiber type, it is completely excluded from warranty, returns, and exchanges.

Daily Care

  • Vacuum regularly using low suction and no rotating brush.
  • Deal with spills immediately: blot up the liquid with a dry, white, lint-free cloth. Do not rub or wet the area.
  • Do not use bleach, acetone, stain removers, or abrasive chemicals.
  • Protect the rug from direct sunlight and rotate it periodically to prevent color fading.
  • Use felt protectors under heavy furniture.
  • If the rug gets wet accidentally, do not fold it; let it dry flat in a well-ventilated area.

Care by Fiber Type

Viscose, banana silk, and bamboo silk: These are the most water-sensitive fibers. Contact with moisture can cause stiffness, pilling, and permanent color changes. At home, use dry care only; when cleaning is needed, choose a professional company experienced with viscose.

Wool and wool blends: Naturally resistant to stains thanks to their lanolin. Dry vacuuming and immediate spot treatment are sufficient.

Polypropylene and polyester: Dry vacuuming and wiping the surface with a slightly damp cloth are suitable.

Warranty Coverage

Under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, Carpetdocia rugs are covered by a statutory warranty against manufacturing and material defects for two years from the delivery date. For a defect claim, the issue must have been present at the time of delivery.

Situations not covered by the warranty:

  • Any washing process. Products that have been washed at home, in a machine, with steam, or by a professional company are completely excluded from warranty, returns, and exchanges.
  • Cleaning that goes against the care instructions and the use of unsuitable chemicals.
  • Natural changes resulting from use: variations in pile direction, flattening, furniture marks, wear, and sun fading.
  • Cuts, burns, tears, pet damage, moisture, and mold.
  • Visible damage not reported within 7 days of delivery.

To submit a warranty claim, send your order number, clear photos of the damage, and a description through the contact form. Claims are reviewed within 48 hours. If the claim is approved, Carpetdocia will cover the cost of a replacement or refund, including shipping.
