Knit Jute Series Handwoven Natural Jute Woven Mat Rug – Cream (Woven Texture)

The Knit Jute Series consists of decorative woven mat rugs made entirely from natural jute and handwoven with a distinctive woven texture. Thanks to their flat, pile-free woven structure, these rugs are durable and easy to maintain. Made from 100% natural jute fibers, this rug creates a warm and authentic atmosphere while offering a sturdy construction with a weight of 2000 g/m². This variant features a soft cream tone and a fine woven texture spread across the entire surface.

What Is a Jute / Woven Mat Rug?

Jute is a natural, durable, and eco-friendly plant fiber obtained from the stems of the jute plant (Corchorus). As one of the most widely produced natural fibers after cotton, jute is a sustainable choice thanks to its biodegradable and renewable properties. A woven mat rug is a type of flatweave rug with no pile height, made by braiding or weaving these natural fibers. Jute woven mat rugs are known for their earthy, natural appearance, durable structure, and warm texture, and are particularly popular in natural, bohemian, and modern interiors.

What Is Knit Weaving?

Knit weaving is a special weaving technique in which jute fibers are braided and processed to create a textured, distinct surface. Unlike classic flat jute rugs, the knit texture adds depth and a handcrafted character to the surface. In the Knit Jute Series, each design is crafted with a different knit texture, bringing a unique and natural feel to your space.

How Do You Clean a Jute Woven Mat Rug?

Jute woven mat rugs should be cleaned regularly with a low-suction vacuum cleaner. Spot treatment can be performed with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth; however, because jute is sensitive to water, the rug should never be soaked, washed with large amounts of water, or placed in a washing machine. Dry cleaning is recommended for deep cleaning. Keeping the rug away from damp environments helps preserve its natural texture and shape for a long time.

Add a natural, warm, and authentic touch to your living spaces with the cream knit-textured natural jute woven mat rug from the Knit Jute Series. Unconditional returns are available within 14 days of delivery. For more options, explore our jute rugs and handwoven rugs collections.

Protect Your Rug’s Elegance
A careful care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations—pieces that add value to your living space—for generations to come.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Delicate materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
The delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models clearly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
